The 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene Rockwool Blocks are the biggest rockwool blocks available. These bigger rockwool blocks are widely used for planting bigger plants or smaller trees. The plants with bigger stem or trunk will need more space which the net cups cannot provide. The net cups will not be sufficient for these kinds of plants. The Cultilene rockwool blocks can be placed over a larger grow tray and there is no need for any other supportive items for the plants growing in these blocks. Let’s find out more about these Cultilene rockwool blocks. They are used in hydroponics grow system as well as in other grow mediums.
The Specifications of 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene Rockwool Blocks
The Cultilene rockwool blocks have the dimensions of an 8 inch cube. The size is enough to support a larger plant even if it bears more and heavier fruits. A hole is made at the centre of the block in which the plant may be planted. The blocks come as a whole pack with 18 blocks of the same size. These blocks can be used for both traditional soil grow system and hydroponics. When the plants outgrow in other grow mediums, transfer the smaller rockwool cubes with the plants on to the rockwool blocks. The blocks will be wrapped in plastic to ensure they retain the shape when they are delivered to you.
The Advantages of 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene Rockwool Blocks
The rockwool blocks are made from volcanic rocks that are heated and made into fiber that are tightly packed around but yet leaving enough space for air and water to pass through. It maintains an optimum air-water ratio to allow healthy rooting for the plants.
- The saturation, water absorption and re-saturation rates of these 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene Rockwool Blocks are relatively higher to have easier and faster growth. It retains a better portion of the absorbed nutrient water to let the plants have access to nutrients anytime.
- The 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene rockwool blocks do not come with a pre cut hole. The cubes of any size can be placed over them with appropriate sized cut as per requirement. The roots can penetrate through the fiber so there will not be problem with this double substrate.
- Cultilene rockwool blocks provide firm and strong support to the growing plants so that they stay tight in them and are not vulnerable to any strong wind and can have a luxurious fruiting. The low density of the packing of the fiber does not alter the firmness of the blocks and neither does it make the rockwool blocks a weaker medium.
Using Procedure of 8” x 8” x 8” Cultilene Rockwool Blocks
The rockwool blocks need to be soaked in water prior to using it. The soaking water should have a pH of 5.2 and the soaking period should be 24 hours. It helps the whole block to have the same optimum pH. The soaking water can have the plant nutrients in them. The soaking procedure need to be followed even if smaller rockwool cubes with plants are being placed over the blocks. Whatever be the method of growing the blocks must have the optimal pH value to allow better nutrient absorption by the plants growing by any system.
